Tanzania Orphanage Fundraising Concert at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Limerick
This spectacular concert features direct from another Sold Out appearance
at Carnegie Hall New York, Irish America’s favourite singer Andy Cooney. Andy will
bring his outstanding show for one special performance to the Radisson Blu Hotel
Limerick on Thursday 14 th November, helping to raise much needed funds for the
Tanzanian Orphanage. Christened by ‘The New York Times’ as ‘Irish America’s
Favourite Son,’ Andy’s beautiful tenor voice and dynamic stage presence makes him
a great favourite as he renders songs from his vast repertoire including ‘Slaney
Valley’, ‘My Rose of Ballinrobe’, ‘Noreen’, ‘The Irish Wedding Song’, “Boston Rose”
and “Daughter of Mine”. His self-penned song ‘The Eighth Day’ was produced by
Phil Coulter and has proved to be a great hit in Ireland, receiving great airplay. Andy
is also one of ‘The New York Tenors’ who have been receiving high critical acclaim.
The name Andy Cooney has also been associated with ‘The Cruise of Irish Stars’
which annually draws over 1,000 Irish and Irish Americans on a Caribbean Cruise
where there are entertained by many talented top-class Irish artists. Andy’s talent
and versatility provide the ability to deliver these songs directly to the hearts of his
listeners making for an unmissable show. Backing Andy on the night will be one of
Ireland’s leading bands The Conquerors.
Very special guests for this show will be the multi-talented Ryan Family from
Pallasgreen. Michael, Teresa, Anna Jane, Una and Maria who have won All Ireland
titles in the Scór na nÓg and Senior Scór. Anna Jane is Assistant Principal at
Limerick’s school of Music and is conductor of the school’s senior Orchestra. Una
teaches in Our Lady Queen of Peace Limerick while Maria has toured extensively
with the Galician piper, Carlos Nunez, throughout Europe, Africa and South America.
She is also a member of the highly regarded classical/traditional group Strung.
The great country singer and excellent interpreter of the old Country Classics of
Hank Williams and Buck Owens, Marty Daniels will also perform for this star-studded
concert. With two acclaimed CD’s under his belt ‘A Little Bluer than That’ and the
Nashville recorded ‘Crying Time’, Marty is sure to entertain with well know country
